Chosen by 14 television channels around the Mediterranean, these images show the extraordinary wealth of the region's heritage. They are the audiovisual traces of a shared history, now available free of charge to the general public. With nearly 4,000 archive films offered by 20 partners, Med-Mem – Mémoires audiovisuelles de la Méditerranée (Audiovisual Memory of the Mediterranean) – is the largest video library entirely devoted to this unique heritage. A project co-financed by the European Union as part of the Euromed Heritage IV programme. Available in three languages (Arabic, English and French), the web-site helps users see events from different perspectives, browsing by major themes and sub-themes the collections of Med-Mem's partners. There are also editorial files compiled by specialist scholars for more in-depth knowledge. The user can launch and refine a search by geographical region ... or use the time-line mosaic to find what he or she is looking for by historical period. An exceptional resource for students, teachers and their students. To make this heritage available to a wide audience, particularly the young, Med-Mem can also be consulted in many libraries, universities, museums and cultural institutions throughout the Mediterranean region.
