High quality productions in the age of austerity
Intervengono: Manuel Alduy, Directeur du Cinéma et des Fictions Numériques et Internationale, France Télévisions; Claudio Cappon, Secretary General, COPEAM; Carlo Dusi, Executive Producer, Strategy Director, ENDOR Productions; Michele Zatta, Head of International Coproductions, Rai Fiction.

Manuel Alduy: I have helped broadcasters to acquire, market and promote the best scripted content for their audience. As a TV entertainment savvy and fan, I have developed negotiation and marketing core competences, a strong drive for transformation, and situational and cultural adaptability. I started in Finance for the pioneer pay TV Group CANAL+. Budget planning and cost controlling when competition launched and Internet was created proved to be an exciting moment. 7 years later, I swinged to business development, a move that worked as a transition to content programming, marketing and acquisitions. At Multithématiques, I handled carriage negotiations and channels launch. Later, I headed CINECINEMAS pay TV, a 6-channel portfolio with 3 millions subscribers, 2000 films per year and a newsroom. Back at CANAL+ as French Cinema VP, then head of Cinema & Series, I enjoyed reading 500 scripts a year, screening as many films and series, acquiring rights from producers and distributors, and negotiating the first complexities of this new TV era (replay, SVOD, OTT) with US major Studios. I also handled industry negotiations with Guilds, Festivals and cinema organizations, and lobbied on key regulatory issues. A decade later, as Netflix was rumored to launch in France, I moved to head CANAL+OTT division, with SVOD, digital content and channels. Thanks to a talented team with entrepreneurial spirit, we grew CANALPLAY from 300k to 850K subscribers in France, launched 50 YouTube channels, initiated brand content for CANAL+ and the first premium short-form scripted series with STUDIO+ (25 produced in 18 months). Early 2016, time had come to move again and join great friends at 20th Century Fox. I was responsible for the sales of Fox's films, Fox and FX series to broadcasters and SVOD services in France, Belgium, Spain, Portugal, Africa and Switzerland, from major volume deals to one-off individual sales. I also locally manage scripted format sales (THIS IS US France). End of 2019, I was happy to join Disney and oversees EMEA content sales. Early 2021, I joined France Télévisions to head cinema and international series.

Recentemente ho lavorato a "Sopravvissuti", "Il giro del mondo in 80 giorni","The reunion" e "The swarm" tutte co-prodotte con ZDF e FRANCE TV.
