Chiara Longo Bifano is an Italian Rai journalist.
Since 2021 she has been Secretary General of Prix Italia.
Earlier she has been Editor in Chief of the Video Productions Area in the Commercial Division of Rai (RaiCom). In 2016 she had the honour to be awarded with “the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic” for her activities as Head of Communication for the Municipality of Rome and as Advisor for the Commissioner of the City. Moreover, she held the position of Chief Officer in the The Italian Centre of Studies for Training and Upgrading in Broadcasting Journalism in Perugia and also served as a member of the Italian National Order of Journalists. She started her career in the Vatican Radio as a presenter and reporter of the World Service's morning programme, during the Jubilee of the Year 2000.
Since 2001 she worked as editor for TG2 (i.e. daily newscast on RAI2 channel), especially focusing on foreign affairs but also covering European issues and international summits. She has been radio host of GR (i.e. Giornale Radio) as well as head of service of the morning newsroom in Rai's 24-hour News Channel. In 2018 she wrote a book on storytelling and migration featuring some conversations with taxi drivers from all over the world. Her work aim was to counterbalance fake news and dismantle prejudices against migrants and migration.
