Dame Elan Closs Stephens
Professor Dame Elan Closs Stephens is an experienced chair and non-executive director who has spent a career in broadcasting, the creative industries and academia. Dame Elan is currently the Pro Chancellor and Professor Emerita in Communications and Creative Industries at Aberystwyth University in Wales. She is the Electoral Commissioner for Wales and Member of the UK Electoral Commission Board. She is the Chair of the Wales Public Leaders' Forum and Chair of the UNESCO International Prize for contribution to the creative economy.
Dame Elan stepped down as Acting Chair of the BBC Board earlier this year after serving for more than 20 years on the Corporation's governing body during which time she also chaired the BBC's commercial subsidiary, BBC Studios, and the Welsh language broadcaster, S4C.

 

 

Emelie de Jong
Emelie de Jong is director of France Culture, the French public cultural radio station in the Radio France group.
With a passion for culture and degrees in musicology and history, Emelie de Jong has about 30 years of experience in the public broadcasting sector. Before joining France Culture, she was co-manager and programme director of ARTE GEIE, where she was in charge of the channel's editorial policy. She is the 2024 Prix Italia President.
