Mascus, les hommes qui détestent les femmes (Mascus, Women-Hating Men)

Direction: Pierre Gault. Photography: Christophe Astruc, Ludovic Siméon, Joseph Haley, Olivier Ludot. Producers: Amandine Chambelland, Yoan Zerbit (EverProd). Producing Organisations: France TV Slash, EverProd. Coproducing Organisation: With the participation of France Télévisions. Production Year: 2024.

Women manipulate you, How to get the balls of the alpha male, Be tough and demanding with women… These provocatively titled videos are a hit on social networks, racking up hundreds of thousands of views. In the form of a cyber-investigation, this documentary aims to decrypt the "manosphere" and show its dangers. Our journalist, Pierre Gault, has infiltrated forums, Telegram or WhatsApp groups and private conversations. Trivialised sexual assaults, appeals for rape, misogynistic but also racist comments, harassment… His dive into the heart of macho communities is dizzying and reveals a culture of hate against women.

Presented by: Pierre Gault, Journalist, documentary director

My three years with CAPA Presse have given me the opportunity to work on a wide variety of programs. Whether for Envoyé Spécial, Complément d'Enquête, Amazon Prime Video or TF1 Grands Reportages, the subjects I was called upon to cover confirmed my interest in investigative reporting. Since this experience, I have covered the last presidential election for the weekly program Nous Présidents (France 5). At the same time, I was able to make several documentaries: TF1 Grands Reportages and an investigation into the collapse of the Rue d'Aubagne buildings in Marseille (RMC Story). After infiltrating logistics warehouses for Envoyé Spécial, this year I directed a documentary for France TV Slash on masculinists in France.

Stalker

Direction, Project Manager: Johannes Hallbom. Photography: Christoffer Hjalmarsson. Producing Organisation: SVT/ Dokument inifrån.

There are rumours about Felix. An anonymous phone number is spreading information about him harassing and exploiting women. The rumours are all over town. But what most people don't know is that Felix is the real victim, and his stalker won't stop until his life is destroyed. What started out as innocent text messages escalates to the point where he is harassed at all hours of the day, someone following Felix like a shadow. What starts in his hometown follows him to his job at an army base, affects his colleagues, and finally threats are made directly to Felix's family and friends. He doesn't know who to trust.

Presented by: Johannes Hallbom, Producer, journalist

Johannes Hallbom has been working as an investigative journalist at SVT since 2013. As part of the documentary department he has been involved in some of the biggest and most praised investigative documentary series in Sweden over the last ten years. The documentary series "Experimenten" (2016) unfolded the truth about the controversial research of surgoen Paolo Macchiarini and his plastic trachea. The investigation led to the resignaton of many in the directorship of the Karolinska institute. "Fallet Kevin" (2017) told the story about two brothers who were accused of having murdered a little boy named Kevin when they themselves were only five and seven years old. The series revealed that they infact were innocent but had been framed as murderers for 18 years. The series led to a massive debate about the interrogation of children by the police in Sweden. Hallbom is currently a producer at the documentary department, specializing in the format of documentary series. In recent years he has produced documentaries that have been highlighted for their story telling, and have had great impact both in Sweden and in other countries. Some of these are "De utvalda barnen" (2021) and "Stalker" (2023).
